BKC International BKC International Breeders Kennel Club Rules and Regulations

1. Anyone that is using BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration applications or forms must comply with all current BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration guidelines and policies. The registration applicant becomes a member of BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB after a dog is successfully registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB. Members of BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB have access to all of BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB’s services and can participate in any programs, events, competitions, or seminars sponsored by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB.

2. In order to apply for BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration, the application for registration is required to be made on an original BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB application form. At the time of sell or transfer, new owners should receive the proper BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration application from anyone representing a puppy and/or dog as BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registered. The registration application must be submitted by the new owner to BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB with the appropriate fees in order for the registration to be certified.

3. In order for puppies to be eligible for BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration, the dam (mother) must be registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB. Also, the sire (father) must be either registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB or another registration organization that is recognized by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB. The sire and dam must both be BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registered if the breeder of the litter owns both parents. The original, signed BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB Puppy Registration Application must be given to every new owner by anyone who is representing puppies as eligible for BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration.

4. For a puppy and/or dog to be registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB, the parents must be registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB or another registration organization that is recognized by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB. The new owner must provide the applicant dog’s sire and dam registration forms or submit a current BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB Canine Registration Application and provide a copy of the applicant dog’s registration forms along with the appropriate documentation and fees to BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB. Any owner submitting their dog using the Canine Registration application must be of a breed that BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB recognizes.

5. If in good standing with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB, any owner of a non-registered purebred dog of at least one year of age, may apply for registration through BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB’s PAW Evaluation Program using a current BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB PAW Registration Application. According to the guidelines of the PAW Evaluation Program, only purebred dogs of accepted BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB-recognized breeds can be considered for registration. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to approve, pend any application for additional documentation, decline, or suspend any dog being submitted for evaluation.

6. Based on the accuracy of the applicant registration application information, BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB will accept registration applications and distribute registration certificates to said applicant. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB accepts no liability for any inaccurate, false, or fraudulent information submitted on registration applications.

·         a. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to decline registration to any person(s) or to suspend or revoke the BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB club membership of anyone who is convicted of a crime against animals in any state, province, or country.

·         b. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to decline registration to any person(s) or to suspend or revoke the BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB club member privileges of any member who acts unethical or fraudulent as deemed by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB

·         c. To insure agreement between BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB and the BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB club member on the guidelines and policies, BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to investigate any club member. If a member is found who violated any of BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB’s registration guidelines and policies, they are responsible for all fees acquired by BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB’s investigation, including but not limited to: DNA testing, PEA testing, and any other BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB-performed tests.

·         d. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to decline registration to any person(s) or to suspend or revoke the BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB club member privileges of any member who disrupts an active BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB investigation or refuses to cooperate with investigators or does not reimburse BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB investigation fees as described in Guideline 6c (above).

7. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration applicants and certificate holders recognize that all BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration applications and Certificates of Registration are the property of BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB and must be surrendered upon request. The breeder or owner of each dog is responsible for notifying BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB of any changes in a dog’s registration status, including but not limited to its death or change in ownership. To change ownership of a BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB-registered dog, the certificate holder must sign and fill out the new owner’s name and address on the back of the certificate. In addition, the new owner also must sign the back of the certificate and return it to BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB along with the transfer fee.

8. If there are any instances of questionable parentage of any BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB-registered dog or applicant of registration, BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB will acknowledge and use DNA testing to determine the parentage of any dog(s) that are being questioned. According to the testing procedures established by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB, the DNA testing is to be performed by a BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB-recognized DNA testing facility at the expense of the party, or parties, that are disputing the parentage. All breeders or owners of BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB-registered dogs must agree to submit their dogs for DNA testing at BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB’s request and agree to comply with the results found by the DNA tests.

9. All purebred dogs registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB must be ---. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB will acknowledge and follow up on the results of Photo Enhancement Analysis (PEA) testing to determine if the dog in question is of proper breed type. The PEA testing is to be preformed according to the testing procedures established by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB at the expense of the party or parties that are disputing the breed type of the dog. At BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB’s request, the breeder or owner agree to submit his or her dog(s) for PEA testing if the breed type is challenged as not being of proper breed type and agree to comply with the results found by the PEA tests.

10. A dog that has been declined by BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB may not be listed as the sire or dam of a litter or transferred to a new owner. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to decline the registration of a dog if BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB determines that:

·         c. If the dog is discovered by DNA testing to not have the same parentage as shown on the registration application

·         d. If the dog is discovered by PEA testing to not be of proper breed type as shown on the registration application

·         e. Breeder or owner does not cooperate with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB when DNA testing, PEA testing, and/or photographs of the dog were requested

11. If two co-owners submit a registration application to BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB, then the dog will be registered to both owners. Each owner will have equal registration rights with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB. A parent or legal guardian is to act as a co-owner for minors (persons under the age of 18 years) who want to submit an application for registration to BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB.

12. Names of dogs registered with BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB must not exceed thirty characters, including spaces and punctuation marks between words. BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB reserves the right to decline any application where the name of the dog is, including but not limited to being inappropriate or offensive.

Current BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB Registration Guidelines will be given to the certificate holder when the BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB certificates are issued. The certificate holder must comply with the current BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB registration guidelines and policies. This is a binding agreement between BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB and the certificate holder unless the BKC INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS KENNEL CLUB certificate is returned with thirty days for a full refund of registration fees.
